The Braves bullpen took a serious hit of their own prior to the game, when it was announced that reliever Mike Gonzalez has a slight ligament tear in the lower part of his left elbow, and will need to undergo Tommy John surgery next week to repair his arm. Recovery from the surgery typically requires a full year of recovery...Moyer beat the Braves for the first time since May 23, 1987, when he pitched for the Cubs. He is now 2-6 lifetime against Atlanta...Chipper Jones, who sat with a sore right thumb, was available to pinch-hit, and will likely return the Braves lineup on Saturday.

Hmm, and now I read this from Rotoworld, the previous post was from a newspaper, anyone with more concrete news please let me know....

Chipper Jones is expected to be out of the starting lineup until at least Sunday after receiving a cortisone injection in his sore right hand.

For anyone that cares...looks like he could be back today.

Manager Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones (thumb) remain hopeful the third baseman will be able to return to the lineup Sunday after sitting out the past three games.

Yeah, just put the game on, announcers said he was in the lineup but taken out last minute. He should be back soon (I hope). Decided to leave him in the weekly lineup league.

Hmmm.....was just debating if I should plug in Reynolds or Kouzmanoff this week for Jones too......
