They are a very good young team that has a a lot of potential hitting and pitching. They are gonna have some ups and downs but in that division they play in, they are a real deal playoff contender IMO.

They are for real in the NL Central, if they were in any other division I'd say a .500 team probably, maybe a few games over.
They have a top 3 hitting prospect and top 3 pitching prospect still to be added to their team so they probably will play their best ball in the 2nd half.

I think they definitely will be a force to be reckoned with, but I dont see them playing any better than they did in April, even if they bring Gallardo up.

Guess it depends on how you define better, I think they'll play better but they won't win as much as they did in April. They won every close game in April and thats just not something that you can keep up.
I'm probably biased since i live in Milwaukee, but i think they're for real. Playing in the weak NL Central certainly helps, but up and down the roster they have talent. The GLARING weak spot was 3B with the Graffanio/Counsell platoon, but with the call-up of Ryan Braun, that problem has been addressed (hopefully).
The scary part is, this team probably hasn't reached their full potential yet. They're young infeild of Fielder, Weeks, Hardy and Bruan could end up being one of the best (at least offensively) in the majors in a year or two.
perhaps overachieving a bit this year, but that's because they're so young - in a bit of a scoring drought at the moment.
but... Capuano, Bush and Sheets are a SOLID core, then the best SP prospect in Gallardo is just waiting in the wings... 2 good closers...
oh, and then an infield of Hardy/Weeks/Fielder and now Braun - all under 25.... add in Billy Hall and a few other young bats...
lastly, they couldn't ask for better ownership - a brilliant mind off of Wall Street - fiercely competitive - with cash and willing to spend it... wisely.
The Brewers are only going nowhere but up. They'll be in the series within the next few years, imo.
(disclaimer: I'm NOT a Brewers fan - but they are hard not to like)
When you look at the recent slide keep in mind who they have played.
3 @ NYM, 1-2. Both teams won a blowout and Mets won the 3rd game by 1.
4 @ PHI, 1-3. Brewers bullpen blew two games, the only two games they have blown all year so it was bound to happen.
3 vs Min, 1-2. They played pretty poorly in those 2 loses
3 @ LAD, 1-2. Each team won a 4 run game, LAD won a 1 run game.
They have played just as well as these other teams mostly losing the rubber match by 1 run, considering the games were on the road against playoff contending teams I wouldn't be worried about it.
The NL East is 27-21 against the NL Central this year.
The NL West is 36-18 against the NL Central this year.
AL teams are 10-5 against the NL Central this year.
Overall the NL Central is 44-73 for a .376 winning percentage outside of the division
This is a really bad division and I think the Brewers are gonna end the year 5+ games over .500 but only because they are facing such crappy competition for half of their games.
