Congratulations to Granderson Owners

You own the the player who has put up the 25th (not positionally adjusted) best stats so far. As one who drafted him to play the lefty righty game with Bonds, I have created a #1 OFer. I'd like to thank GTWMA for alerting me to the viability of drafting Granderson for platooning purposes.

Where do you see his keeper value in 14-team mixed league 5 x 5? And where should his trade value be today in redraft?

BABIP .344 (only a bit higher than last years .338)

Trading away Sizemore in my keeper league so that I had a place to put Granderson has really worked out well for me. Not that Sizemore is a slouch, but I've got Sizemore-lite along with Corey Hart and Brandon Webb on my roster now.

Granderson is money vs. RHP. ALWAYS bench him vs. LHP.

So he's improving his batting average, and there's no doubt he's going to continue to improve overall as a player. However, those stats look very similar. Let's hit the reigns a little before we talk about him being a good #2 OF, much less a #1.

Many guys get really hot for a month or two over the course of the season. We shouldn't ignore it, but just because he's started off the last two years hot doesn't mean that's any different than a guy that gets hot over the summer.

Granderson ended 2006 at

That's not bad, but that's not that good either. Realistically I'd expect mostly improvement in his BA and his SBs.

Maybe a 90-23-70-20 year hitting .275 would be reasonable.

The only thing you need to be concerned about is the Ks which looks like he is cutting down on. That was really holding him back.

Then maybe you could see a 95-25-75-20 .285 season if the Ks are getting better.

Just don't expect the 110+ runs and 90+ rbi that keeps him out of Damon territory for a year or two... but I don't even think of Damon as a #1 OF.

A couple people missed part of his point. His point wasn't that Granderson is a #1 OF, but that he created #1 OF stats by platooning Granderson and Bonds.
