Apparently Johnny Damon was being shopped close to the deadline.

Also, the Jack Wilson trade is close to being done (from Pirates to Tigers). Expected to clear waivers because of contract.

Probably damage control with Soriano out and not wanting to rely on 3 rookies. If ARam is out for an extended period of time, DeRosa will have to move to 3rd. Although, 670 The Score reported that the Cubs are also looking for a 3B on waivers.

Stewart has been decent and isn't costing a lot. He could be a decent piece for a contender.
