Only thing I could imagine is the Yanks trying to keep Helton out of Boston. Although I don't really see where Boston was planning on playing Helton with Youkilis at 1B and DH taken.


I just pray someone takes Farnsworthless. I can't stand him and any deal getting rid of him would be very impressive.


Fuentes would obviously help this team a lot. Myers should be done pitching to Ortiz by now.

is it smart for the Yankees to bring in someone like Helton?
as someone who doesnt like the Yankees i say go for it.. another aging vetran with an unmovable contract.
sure Helton has been having a nice year so far, but i dont buy it lasting. the previous 2 seasons hes been a better hitter in Colorado(surprise ) so going to NY, would he be the same, or worse?
plus what it would take to get Helton and/if Fuentes.. im guessing young players.
so maybe the Yankees will be getting even older and trading away young players.. yeah good move
if the Yankees were smart, they would forget about bringing in aging vetrans, unless they get them real cheap.. and i dont think Helton and Fuentes will or should come cheap.

i personally hope Fuentes doesnt get traded, unless its somewhere else to close because hes the only real top tier closer i have.

it would be pointless for the rox to move helton for giambi. why move a bad contract for an even worse one while clogging up a spot on the field. the whole point of moving helton would be to get baker in at 1st and get some prospects.

i think this is what it would take to get the deal done. fairly steep price but clippard is nothing more than a #4 pitcher in the AL. tabata could replace tavereas in time. farnsy just to have a power arm in the bullpen...
