Word out from Dodger camp is that he had his best throwing session so far the other day, reaching higher velocity since he came to LA. If he holds up and can throw 92 or so again, he will be a should be a good pitcher again, especially in that ballpark and with that offense that is very good so far.

Does the cafe think an ETA of 2-3 weeks is reasonable for Schmidt?

He's burning a hole in my free agency pool. I'd love to have him for the second half.

grab Schmidt. He pitches in a pitchers ballpark and has decent velocity with good movement. I still see a solid season out of him, though it may not be as good as we predicted at the beginning of the year.
A sub 4 era with a sub 1.30 whip is reasonable. This is on the low end.

^ Dodger Stadium is not the pitcher's haven that it once was. With Schmidt, it is all about the velocity on his fastball.

Schmidt pitched over the weekend. Any word on what his fastball was clocked at?

News: The Los Angeles Daily News reports Jason Schmidt (shoulder) will make his first scheduled rehab start on Wednesday for Class A Inland Empire. Schmidt was expected to throw a simulated game, but he has been bothered by flu-like symptoms recently.
Analysis: Schmidt is expected to make at least three or four rehab starts in the minors, building up his stamina and shaky off the rust. Look for him to be sidelined at least two or three more weeks before returning to the Los Angeles rotation.
