What is up in LA? Is Billingsley going to replace Tomko? Or will it be Kuo??

Most reports I've seen have Kuo. And why would you want Billingsley's disasterous BB rate? Yeah his K rate is awesome, but his WHIP is atrocious.

because that way he could work through it and show what he can do as a starting pitcher with ace potential?

his bad WHIP seems more like a beginning of the season thing, he's been doing well lately. even with a bad whip last year he still had a good ERA, he's a good pitcher and should be even better when he's not coming out of the bullpen.

Yeah last year he had a WHIP of 1.67 and 59 K vs 58 BB. Yes he's kept his walks down this year, but it's also easier to keep your walks down when you're only pitching 1 or 2 innings.

I'm not saying the kid can't learn to not walk people, but that K/BB ratio is a little worrisome for the time being.

If he doesn't, we may need to get some DNA from the drunken rhino.

He should already be starting. I have no idea what LA is doing with this kid. He was their top SP -- yes, SP -- prospect last year and, after some initial struggles, he was strong down the stretch. He followed that up with a strong ST and . . . he lost out on a rotation slot to the fearsome Tomko. Huh? Is the team deliberately trying to screw with him?

would not say that, I'll say Kuo probably has better stuff and lose just about every other categories(maybe Kuo wins the mental aspect): injury, control...

Kuo looks like the replacement right now, he's getting stretched out in AAA, but I'm highly skeptical of him figuring out his control problem right now. But hey, he was pitching like Johan down the stretch last year, so who knows? Billingsley needs to get stretched out before he can start.
