cantu is not a major league 2nd baseman, and gomes is ugly in the outfield.
thank you
Gomes can't be worse than Dunn and if Cantu would start hitting his defense might be acceptable. The Rays are likely asking for too much, like they always do.

trust me Gomes is worse than dunn and would not produce near the offensive numbers to make up for it either. Cantu won't start hitting b/c he is not that good. Go look at what he was doin in AAA. There was a reason he had one good year.

so .. trade reyes, and then trade cantu or gomes and replace reyes with someone like vinnie chulk, makes sense.
I'm not the only one. Yeah, they should trade Reyes while his stock is high. He's 37 and an injury risk. When this team is ready to contend, he'll be long retired.

Maybe SF will give up another Nathan or the new flavor of the month Accardo? All are better than mopup guys, right? Yeah. Stranger things have happened. Gomes & Cantu will eventually leave for nothing anyways if TB doesn't play them/trade them while Al Reyes will be at home watching games on TV.
