I don't think so. The Marlins really don't have a leadoff man, and I think once Jacobs comes back M-Cab goes to 3 and Jacobs goes to cleanup, with Hanley leading off... if Hanley isn't leading off, that means the Marlins leadoff hitter is CF, and none of their CF really deserve to hit there....

I don't own Hanley so as a biased observer I don't understand the move. His speed is a very valuable part of his game, putting him in the 3 hole basically takes away from that. Why would you have him steal when M-Cab is hitting behind him? It's not like Amezaga or Uggla are On Base machines either, so there truely aren't going to be that many more RBI oppurtunities. Until he starts to get older, and by that I mean about 30, he should be batting leadoff.

He should be batting 3rd seven years from now? Have you seen the guy? Hanley is very big and will fill out within the next couple years. There is no way he will be leading off in three years or so.

Yes, Amezaga is certainly a liability at lead off but the guy is still capable of posting about a .340 OBP with 25 or so steals. Hanley is much better suited for the 3 spot, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him return to the lead off spot once Jacobs returns.

3rd is where he belongs... some people don't realize the type of player Hanley is and how quickly his power is developing. Stolen bases really don't help that much in real baseball unless your success rate is very high, as opposed to fantasy baseball.
