May 23 The San Francisco Chronicle's John Shea reports Oakland Athletics RP Alan Embree will serve as the team's closer while RP Justin Duchscherer and CL Huston Street are out of the lineup.

My bad for not giving you guys the link for the source. I'm still new to this forum I'm use to a few others. I posted something on this injury forum and talked about the potential closers since Street and Duch. would be out (Embree,Calero, and Hitasick) and they all said go to the Closer forum. My fault for not giving you the link though.

Anyways, yeah Embree will close out games. Justin D. had his DL retoactive so he might be back in 8 days or so as long as the hip shows signs of getting better. It was also said (rotowire) that depending on how the MRI results come back with Street - he'll either be back in a few weeks or shut down for the season. And with JD's hip an issue - I'd personally hang onto Embree EVEN WHEN Duscherer comes back incase the hip caused him to go on the dl again.
