Any interesting FA? I like everything except for your 2B, 3B and your bench. I would think that there would be someone better than Jacque out there for the bench. I would try and upgrade at 2B first. Youkilis will be solid but nothing more. His consistency will be nice, but he will never really mash. You could always play him at 3B and look for upgrades at other positions. I like Abreu and sort of Damon, but I wouldn't really want Ibanez as my 3rd OF, just my opinion. I'd say trade some pitching strength to upgrade in the OF or 2B and see if you can pick up some interesting hitters off of FA for your bench.

Help.

These are the top 10 hitters available:

Carlos Pena - 1B - Tampa Bay
Geoff Jenkins - OF - Milwaukee
Jose Guillen - OF - Seattle
Ryan Church - OF - Washington
Casey Blake - 1B/3B/OF - Cleveland
Luis Gonzalez - OF - LA Dodgers
John Buck - C - Kansas City
Darin Erstad - 1B/OF - Chicago White Sox
Ryan Garko - 1B - Cleveland
Brandon Inge - 3B - Detroit

So, yeah, there isn't too much out there.

I just dropped Jacque Jones and picked up Ryan Garko. I also picked up Doug Brocail and dropped Scot Shields. So, now the team looks like this:

C: Jorge Posada
1B: Gary Sheffield
2B: Ryan Theriot
3B: Kevin Youkilis
SS: Jose Reyes
OF: Johnny Damon
OF: Bobby Abreu
OF: Curtis Granderson
U: Travis Hafner
U: Ryan Garko
BN: David DeJesus
BN: Raul Ibanez

SP: Jake Peavy
SP: Jered Weaver
SP: Livan Hernandez
RP: J.J. Putz
RP: Brian Fuentes
P: Doug Brocail
P: Heath Bell
BN: Aaron Harang
BN: Matt Morris
BN: Chien-Ming Wang
BN: Scott Linebrink

Points breakdown:

Runs = 11 (290)
Home runs = 2 (49)
RBI = 4 (230)
Steals = 12 (54)
Average = 6 (.273)

Wins = 6.5 (25)
Saves = 7.5 (26)
Strikeouts = 7 (329)
ERA = 2 (4.33)
WHIP = 3.5 (1.33)

I've moved up to 7th in the league now, but I still need some suggestions on what type of trade I should try out to try and get that OF/3B/2B.

Updated breakdown:

Runs: 11 (295) - 9 behind 1st place
Home runs: 2 (49) - 1 behind 10th, 2 behind 9th, 4 behind 8th
RBI: 4.5 (234) - 6 behind next
Steals: 12 (54) - lead by 3
Average: 6 (.272) - .005 behind next

Wins: 7.5 (26) - 5 behind next
Saves: 8 (28) - 2 behind next
Strikeouts: 7 (344) - 2 behind next
ERA: 3 (4.28) - .19 behind next
WHIP: 5 (1.32) - .02 behind next

The ERA and WHIP are starting to gradually fall, thanks to Brocail, Bell and Linebrink.

To me Casey Blake is better then Dejusus and qualfies at more posistions as a backup.

I've now moved into a tie for 6th, with 71 points. The pitching stats have really started to help me out, other than the ERA, which still sits at just 4. However, my offense is still struggling, especially in home runs (2) and RBI (4). I need to find a way to acquire one more big, keeper bat, but no one seems to be willing to move anyone.

I'm trying to package a combination of these players:

Gary Sheffield, Bobby Abreu/Johnny Damon, Aaron Harang, Jered Weaver, Chien-Ming Wang

Any advice on what type of trades I should try to make to acquire that one big bat that I'll be able to keep next year (along with Reyes, Hafner, Peavy) as well as help me out this year?
