Postby bsblallstr » Thu Jan 22, 2004 3:45 am

these are my first 10 picks, in a h2h league that is points based, 1 point for a base, 1 for an RBI, 1 for Run, 2 for SB, 1 for BB, 10 for win, 10 for save, 5 for CG, 2 for inn., -.5 for BB/Hit, -1 for ER, 1 for K.

1. Prior
2. R. Johnson
3. Tejada
4. Piazza
5. Santana
6. Beckett
7. Green
8. D. Lee
9. M. Cabrera
10. Teixeira

How good is this team and if you had too what would you do differently.
Reyes and guerrero, the two most blessed players in the league, not to mention the most fun to watch

Loosk pretty good. Your pitching is nice but you do need to get a couple of closers and you have to add some more power.

i dont htink he need s all that much power. HRs weren't worth anyhitng (yes, they do help with the bases, but i'd look for other stuff first)

A good Closer. Get a few good closers the next few rounds

A save is worth as much as a win? Yuck. :-P

Grab a couple of closers.

I was in a points league last year and it rewarded 6 points for a win and 8 points for a save.

the team that won the league was the team with the best pitching staff.

no doubt.

Yeah, I've seen some really weird scoring systems. There was a guy in here last year where they gave 10 points for a save and only 5 points for a win. The guy that won the league had 7 closers. Not anywhere close to real baseball. :-P

I remember being a points league except it was 10 points for a win and 5 for a save which is much more reasonable

Looks pretty good. You may have reached a bit for RJ. I've seen him going a lot in the 4th through 6th rounds, but then again I'm in a lot of keeper leagues, so he is devalued. Get one elite closer (if there are any left), but you can usually wait and grab some more when the season starts and position battles are decided. One stat you should use heavily is projected at bats. A lot of non-power hitters are devalued even though they get 550+ at bats (which translates to a lot of total bases). If Shannon Stewart is available, grab him quick -- a lot of at bats with a high average. He should be a good addition to your outfield.
It's time to roll the dice.
