The latest I have heard is that the Devil Rays have decided on either Price or Vitters with the first pick. They need the immediate arm that Price could provide, have the money to sign him, and definitely need the good publicity that signing a Price type of player would provide to the state of Florida.

Man, I hope they are just throwing Vitters in there as a smoke screen. That starting four including Price in the rotation could make them an immediate contender.

the last thing they need is Vitters (where would he play?)
i think he's the best hitter available this year but still..... they got Briggs and Longoria coming soon.
Price has the highest ceiling of all their current pitchers incl Kazmir imo.
they should take him without hesitation and let him mature in the minors without rushing him.
they got alot of quality arms coming through with Niemann and Sonny, plus Hammels and McGee(my favorite sleeper lefty) and Davis are coming along well too.
Tampa Bay has alot of quality young SP's thats catching up with their hitting.

Exactly. Most people would be suprised to know that Tampas greatest strength in the minors is SP and not bats. There is some serious arms coming up in the next year or so that should fix all of the Devil Rays pitching problems for the next 6 years easily.
