He is the most likely candidate by a longshot, although the Twins haven't completely ruled out Garza, according to Gardenhire who isn't always forthcoming with information like that.

"As expected, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Kevin Slowey will make his major league debut Friday against the A's."
I hadn't seen the quotes at the bottom of the article before.
Like I said earlier, frustration I can understand, but a blatant disregard for the instruction from the organization is ridiculous. I hope with more time in the minors he can be humbled a bit and hone his stuff.
i agree...u have to do what the administration tells you to
While I agree he is wrong, you gotta love a pitcher who thinks his stuff is the ****. Isn't every stud SP a cocky SOB? I like to see the fire, but don't call out the GM.
His stuff obviously isn't the **** in MLB. That's why his managers asked him to work on his secondary offerings but apparently he already knows how to pitch and will pitch the way he wants to.

Many are comparing him to Brad Radke. He is a control pitcher (possibly the best in the minors) and should give the Twins a chance to win, which is more then can be said of either Ortiz or Ponson. He should put up modest numbers in the bigs. He doesn't have any dominant pitches so his strikeout numbers will be mediocre but his ERA and WHIP should be solid.
He's a decent option if you're in either a very deep mixed league or an AL only league. Other then that, your best bet would be to give him a couple of starts and wait and see how he pans out before you go after him yourself.
Overall, he doesn't have a ton of potential of some other up and coming young starting pitchers, but has a good chance at becoming a solid pitcher down the road. I'll be keeping my eye on him, I suggest you do the same.

Slowey is coming up, by the way. Slated to start tomorrow.
Since I've been hammered by pitching injuries and haven't had spare roster space, I missed stashing Lincecum (and now Gallardo), I'm going to go ahead an pick this kid up. Who's with me? Anyone?
