How does Yahoo deal with Waiver Wire/DL Player?

OK,

Someone just dropped Rickie Weeks

I have Thome on my DL.

I Want to drop Jorge Julio for Weeks, so I put in the Waiver tonight.

Thome is still listed as on the DL, so will the deal/waiver clear since I put this in place before Thome officially comes off the DL, or will it void the whole thing when the waiver period ends?

Be safe and just drop the person now that you'd drop for Thome tomorrow. If you're planning on playing him this week, you'll need to do it anyway, so might as well make sure it doesn't mess with your ww request.

Yahoo! gets weird on occassion with it's waiver situation. However in this case, as long as you drop the player and put the claim on Weeks, you should not run into a situation. You shouldn't have to bring back Thome rather than getting Weeks. I wouldn't worry about it. You should be good.

Thome is officially off of both the MLB DL and the Yahoo DL, so to be safe, I'd make sure that Thome is OFF of your DL before the waiver gets processed or you might get hosed.

What the question is is will you be able to pick up Weeks and keep Thome on the DL while dropping the other player...probablly not.

Will Yahoo let you pick up the player without dropping 2 players...prbablly not.

Basically, right now you have a full roster with Thome on the DL and Julio as an active player. If you try to add anyone you will have too many players since Thome will not be recognized as a DL eligible player. As it stands, the only transaction you can make is to drop Julio to activate Thome and then drop another player for Weeks.

I can't recall ever doing this, but that is how I see it working out.
