hot and fresh from rotoworld:

Raul Ibanez-OF-Mariners May. 21 - 10:51 am et

Raul Ibanez (back) sat out Sunday for the third time in four days.

Ibanez played Friday, but said afterward that doing so was a mistake. Ibanez said that he suffered the back injury after sleeping "wrong" on a flight from Detroit Thursday and is having trouble standing still in the outfield.

March 2, 2002, SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- San Francisco Giants second baseman Jeff Kent broke a bone in his left wrist while washing his truck and will miss 4-to-6 weeks.

Kent, the 2000 NL MVP, revealed the injury to Giants trainer Stan Conte on Saturday morning after swelling and soreness set in overnight.

Kent, who owns a white pick up with 4-inch lifts, was at a self-serve car wash in Scottsdale when he hurt himself Friday evening. He slipped and broke the vancular bone when he tried to break his fall.

"I was straddling the back of my truck when I slipped and fell," said Kent. "I didn't think much of it at the time and finished washing my truck. It started swelling up during the night and got really sore."

He lied, he was doing wheelies on a motorcycle.

My favorites are Ventura leaving the box to pick on an old man and a Gramattica getting an acl from celebrating a field goal.

Mike Matheny missed the playoffs when he cut his hand opening a hunting knife he received as a birthday present.

The annual Cardinal pre-playoff injury.

News: Duncan was scratched from Thursday's lineup due to a head injury.
Impact: We'll check his status after the game. (RotoWire - Thu. Apr 26, 2007 )

News: Duncan's head injury was the result of rushing to the park due to an early start time, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Duncan needed 12 stitches to sew up the gash on his head from banging into the ceiling above the stairwell in his complex.
Impact: He should be fine, but the top of his head will look strange for a while. (RotoWire - Fri. Apr 27, 2007 )

Or do you mean Tony Saunders, whose injuries, according to that bastion of credibility Jose Canseco, were steroid-related?
She said always remember never to trust me
She said that the first night that she met me
She said "there's gonna be a time when I'm gonna have to go with whoever's gonna get me the highest."

Pitcher Randy Veres once hurt his hand pounding on a hotel wall trying to get the people in the next room to shut up.

Tony Gwynn once missed a couple of games after he smashed his thumb in the door of his Porsche while in a hurry going to the bank.

Wade Boggs injured his back while removing his cowboy boots.

Infielder Bret Barberie once missed a game when he put on his contact lenses after handling hot peppers and not washing his hands properly.
