I think he definitely could be for real - remember the Indians drafted him in the first round in '02, but he never got on track with them. Could be a post-hype sleeper-
Yeh I would give him a try. I think Guthrie might be decent this year. But Bush has been a major dissapointment I drafted him as my 6th starter in my 8 team league and I have barely played him.
He's got a decent K/9 (6.4), K/BB (3.7), hasn't given up a lot of HRs (1 over 36.2 IP projects to 6 over a full season), WHIP looks good (not looking too hittable) and probably has a full-time spot in the rotation.
The numbers look good, has anyone seen him pitch this year? Before with CLE or Stanford? He's being called a "power pitcher" - how hard does he throw and what pitches does he throw? A power pitcher with his low BB rate sounds good to me.... curious.
I would have to say he's the real deal, and is a definite upgrade over Bush. I've been waiting too long for Bush to be the guy I thought he'd be...just dropped him for Bonser. I'd say it really couldn't hurt to give Guthrie a shot over Bush.
I ended up dropping Bush, but I picked up Dan Johnson cuz I'm tired of waiting for Delgado. He was hitting over .300 for the last week or so, and has fallen off the table again...aye carumba.

What's the worst that could happen? He goes 1-3 in his next 5 starts, allowing 35 hits and 21 ER in 32 IP, with 20 K's. Wait a minute - I remember seeing that from Bush...hey, on the bright side, he's managed to LOWER his ERA in that same span!
