Why did he not play the past 2 days and then just get 1 AB today?

Yesterday was just a day off, and tonight he sat against the lefty starter. He actually got two plate appearances tonight, his first AB was a sac fly. Tomorrow the mighty Nats throw another lefty, so it's possible he could sit again.
