Head to Head league.

10 People.

Keeper

C- Piazza
1B- Thome
2B- Kent
SS- A-Rod
3B- Rolen
MI- Renteria
CI- Bagwell
OF- Carlos Lee
OF- Hideki Matsui
OF-
OF-
util-

SP- Nomo
SP- Maddux
P- Burnett
P- Contreras
P-
RP- Guardado
RP- Borowski

I feel like the Texas Rangers here, having drafted only hitting for the first 8 rounds, which I grabbed as such...

1) A-rod
2) Kent
3) Thome
4) Rolen
5) Renteria
6) Bagwell
7) Carlos Lee
8) Piazza

I then realized pitching is a good thing

9) Nomo
10) Maddux
11) Guardado
12) Matsui
13) AJ Burnett

Other than the obvious "you need more pitching" would you recommend anything else to help this team?

You need more pitching... :-D

If I were in your situation I might draft a few more offensive players and maybe try to move Bagwell or another 1 of your power hitters for a solid starter. You can make a pretty good rotation with what you have if you can add at least 1 great starter.

Maybe a bit more speed, too (unless it's points-based h2h). A Sanchez or Roberts-type player might be a good fit.

Update:

Added Borowski and Contreras, hoping Contreras becomes the pitcher he's supposed to be and that Hawkins doesn't steal Borowski's job...

you definetly need more speed. if a posendink is around, take him, or a roberts or crawford if hes around though i doubt it. Focus on that with you next pick. Look for some young starters who could have big years (raffy soriano, harden ect) they might slip down. Your bullpen is coming along pretty wello. i'd leave that, and try to grab a decent closer late (Julio, Matre, Chacon, Biddle). Nice offense by the way

UPDATE!

The team is now as follows:

C-Mike Piazza (8)
1st- Jim Thome (3)
2nd- Jeff Kent (2)
SS- Alex Rodriguez (1)
3rd- Scott Rolen (4)
CI- Jeff Bagwell (6)
MI- Edgar Renteria (5)
OF- Carlos Lee (7)
OF- Hideki Matsui (12)
OF- Raul Mondesi (18)
OF-
UTIL-

SP- Hideo Nomo (9)
SP- Greg Maddux (10)
P- AJ Burnett (13) / Brett Myers (19)
P- Jose Contreras (15)
P- Mark Buerhle (17)
RP- Eddie Guardado (11)
RP- Joe Borowski (14) / Francisco Cordero (16)

Sanchez and Roberts were taken before I could get to them, so Mondesi was the next best option, even though he is teamless as of now.

I'd grab Edgar Martinez if he's availiable. He only qualifies as a Utility hitter but he's not a bad option.

Josh Phelps might be a good pickup too.
