Hafner: 1B Eligibility?

I'm so glad that he started at 1B again today.

He should have eligibility by June 14th, which is after a 3 game series in CIN and a 3 game series in FLA. I cannot wait!!!! I traded Morneau banking on Hafner going to 1B. Now it is just the waiting game.

He's in the starting lineup again 6/3 at 1B.

Very soon he'll gain eligibility there.

Yea, he does pretty well at 1B, but Garko, Blake, VMart are all choices at everyday 1B before Hafner. Unless the Indians get hit by injuries like crazy, I wouldn't plan on seeing him get 20 starts at 1st this year. He'd have to get another start before interleague begins, and then start every interleague game. I see him playing most, but probably getting a day off per week, while at 1B.

My league on Sportsline requires 4 starts during the season for eligibility and I'm pretty sure this gives him 4, right?

Yeah, he should be eligible in Sportsline leagues after today's start. (I don't play Sportsline, but a friend does).

For Yahoo!, one more start and he'll have 1st base eligibility. This gives a huge value boost to Pronk, and if you're like me and have 1st base combos of Sheffield-Hafner / Howard-Hafner in a lot of leagues, then he's going to prove very valuable in terms of helping you trade for help elsewhere, especially to owners that have been relying on Sexson-Konerko-Delgado types and have become pretty impatient ;-D

yep.

I started out with Giambi, got Swisher. canned Giambi, and have used Pudge to fill in when I could. But he never plays anymore, regardless of position.

So when Hafner gets 1B, I'm going to be all set, and i'll be able to use anyone I want at the util spot, instead of leaving people on the bench, just to keep Hafner in there.
