Nick Johnson - Worth a spot?

Postby CecilFieldersChoice » Fri May 18, 2007 11:00 am

The Nationals transferred Nick Johnson (leg) from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL on Wednesday.

Is this guy worth keeping around for another month or so?? Does anyone know his time frame for a return? I dont know if this move to the 60 day means his return is going to be pushed back even further.

I wouldn't waste a spot on him. Even if he does make it back this season, he'll most likely be a 1 category contributor (AVG) in a poor lineup. I wonder what his career would have looked like without the injuries through the years...

it doesnt push anything back since hes already going to be out the 60 days. i think he is worth the spot. last year he put up .300 20 hr and if your league uses OBP or OPS, hes VERY valuable with that. hes worth a DL spot for sure.

I'm in a very deep league (16 teams) and am definitely holding onto him. Everyday players are way too hard to find and I could use him in the second half if he returns. However I'm not that optimistic on his return date.
