Does anyone know what his ETA might be? I have Micah Owings on my roster and Bailey is a free agent.

Should I drop owings and keep Bailey in case he is called up soon?

In the pregame show, they were interviewing Reds GM Wayne Krivsky and he said Bailey was making good progress but was definitely not ready to come up. Take what you want from that statement, but just thought I'd share.

They will definitely not be rushing him and might expect him only after the AS Break since they are playing for nothing anyways.

I'd rather have Owings.

cbs sportsline is trying to get me excited about Bailey...

Latest News

CBS SportsLine

The day after Kirk Saarloos failed to retire any of the seven batters he faced in Cincinnati's 14-10 loss to Pittsburgh, the Reds optioned the right-hander to Triple-A Louisville and recalled left-hander Bobby Livingston. Livingston is making his second appearance with Cincinnati. "He'll pitch in the bullpen right now, give us some length out there" manager Jerry Narron said. Now the Reds' No. 5 spot is up for grabs, which could mean an arrival of Homer Bailey (4-1, 1.99 ERA) the next time that turn comes up Friday, June 1.
(Updated 05/28/2007).
FANTASY ANALYSIS
Saarloos is nothing more than a Triple-A middle reliever at this point, while at least Livingston is a big league one -- with the potential to start. Bailey pitches Monday night for Triple-A Louisville and won't be the call up if he goes more than four innings, we say.
