If you look at his minor league stats, he's never been dominant or overly impressive. I'd say ride it while it lasts...you aren't going to get anybody for him. If you can package him in a deal, do it.

"That dude is filthy," Hunter said. "We've been struggling, but even if we had been playing good, we wouldn't have beaten him. If you've never played the game, listen to me, I'm a hitter. Right-handers have no chance unless they get lucky and get a hit on a broken bat."

click on the video link to carmona's CG shutout. then watch the movement on that power(94-95 mph) sinker. after reading hunter's comments and watching that video, I got the proof I needed that this kid is for real.

Got him and Chad Gaudin a few weeks ago on the same day off waivers and have rode those guys to make up some ground pitching wise. ;-D ;-D

He's 15th is VORP despite only 7 starts.

1.67 RA+ is better than Oswalt.

Well, it's now late June. And Carmona has an ERA of 3.12, a WHIP about 1.2, and K:BB ratio better than 2 to 1. He's also struck out 21 in his last 27 innings. He certainly has the pure stuff to improve his strikeout rate, but he'll never be a strikeout machine. He's only 23 now, and he was always a bit young at every level of the minors.

He was a highly regarded starting pitching prospect before being stuck in the bullpen last year, and he seems to be getting stronger as the year has gone on.

I had to chuckle a bit at a comment in this thread that compared him to Chien Ming Wang as though it was a bad thing. On a side note, Wang has also improved his K rate this year.

I'm working on acquiring him in my dynasty league, and while his price has likely gone up a bit from what it was, I think he's going to be worth it. Right now, I'm dangling Daniel Cabrera as bait and it might work out. It's a H2H points league (I'll never play in a roto league again), but I think he'll have strong value in leagues of any type.

That's okay, his pitches have some serious English, if you know what I mean.
