Cole Hamels Master of the Universe wrote:"Every year I try to go out there and at least get one (perfect game)," Hamels told reporters.
"I know if I can keep fighting and keep plugging away, I'll be able to go out there and get one every year."
Over under on him throwing a perfect game this year
This is pretty awesome because it shows that Cole Hamels is as bad arse as he tells us he is.
Seriously though I'm not sure i've heard a pitcher ever say he "strives to throw perfect games"

No pitcher wants to give up hits or runs or walks....just because he said it out loud is the only difference I see. Most won't say it out loud because they know its very hard to do and probably just don't want to sound silly.

I agree, yet from the context of the quote it almost sounds like he EXPECTS to throw one each year...or that his goal of one perfect game a year is reasonable. Confidence is a good thing I guess...

It's all a clever coverup. Cole Hamels can throw a perfect game any time he wants. This is Cole Hamels trying to fit in.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
