This is pretty awesome because it shows that Cole Hamels is as bad arse as he tells us he is.

Seriously though I'm not sure i've heard a pitcher ever say he "strives to throw perfect games"

I don't know...I think pretty much every pitcher wants to throw a perfect game every time out. No pitcher wants to give up hits or runs or walks....just because he said it out loud is the only difference I see. Most won't say it out loud because they know its very hard to do and probably just don't want to sound silly. :-?

I agree, yet from the context of the quote it almost sounds like he EXPECTS to throw one each year...or that his goal of one perfect game a year is reasonable. Confidence is a good thing I guess... ;-)
