the kid is 12 for his last 59 (.203 avg) and has only walked 5 times during that span while striking out 15 times. a fall back to earth was expected, but his usually stellar bb:k ratio during his slump is surprising. any braves fans have input on how he looks at the plate lately?
hmmm.. my post was based on this thread: http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/foru ... p?t=273519 where the general consensus seems to be that he has great plate discipline. i think his season numbers thus far have corroborated that. however, i am not a braves fan and have never seen this kid play, so if i'm mistaken just ignore this thread.
I think he will be fine. Give him a little more time. If you have ever watched him play you would know he does have a great eye at the plate... Minor league numbers don't always translate.

In just about every post I do analyzing him, you'll see me refer to him being a "streaky" player. He had a small slumpish thing to start off the year, then a ridiculous hot streak, and now a prolonged cold streak.
If you own KJ for any period of time, this is what it's going to be like. You can either sub him out when he's going cold (I mean, if ever you were going to bench him and wait for signs of life, now would probably be the best time) or you can just ride it out, having faith that he could get very hot again at any moment. My personal preference is the latter, but maybe I'm just lazy with my daily transactions.

I saw enough promise in him to stick with him. He's my 2B and will be unless he really tanks it big-time. I'm not overly-concerned. Kinsler has also dropped off. It happens.
I think that if someone had told you 2 months ago that Kelly would have the numbers he has right now, you'd have taken it without caring much about how he got them.
He's not a .320 hitter. Heck, he's not really a .300 hitter at this point in his career, although he has the talent to be someday. But if he's a .275 hitter with an OBP around .375 on the year, he'll be a huge success and a fixture at 2B and atop the Braves lineup for years.
Im going to sit tight w/ Johnson. I think he will continue to score runs and provide desce' numbers for a FA pickup. My other option is A. Hill at 2B, so i have no choice....go braves

Well-said. And the numbers you mentioned above are probably about what you can expect. Put that with a .430+ SLG and you've got a pretty valuable guy, especially with the ~15 SBs KJ'll contribute.
