Milledge: Rap Star?

Postby Havok1517 » Wed May 16, 2007 8:57 pm

Lastings Milledge is in hot water with the Mets as a result of the lyrics he contributed to a rap single.

Milledge can be heard using a racist term for blacks and language derogatory to women. The Mets haven't ruled out attempting to discipline Milledge, though it's hard to see how they could take any action. If they're sick of dealing with the 22-year-old, there are plenty of teams out there that would like to take him off their hands.

this made me laugh.. not about him rapping, but that the Mets could be upset with his lyrics.
im going to take a wild guess that he used the famous N word, and probually the H word in reference to women.
8-o omg, shocker }:-) :-o ..whatever.
i dont see anything wrong with it. pretty much every black singer/rapper/entertainer will use both words multiple times, so i dont see any problem with Milledge using them.
maybe the Mets can ground him and send him to his room without any dinner

this would be a huge blow to the rap community to see his CD's pulled. Glad I don't have this headache on my team.

Still, the Mets have to decide who the odd man out is in their OF of the future which could likely be as soon as next year. Beltran is a lock in CF and Gomez, with his fantastic arm, is probably the starting RF for 2008 (when Green is gone). Milledge then becomes the LF (when Alou leaves) until the wonderful Fernando Martinez is ready (and wow have they been agressive in his promotion). So, right now I still see Milledge as the Mets best trading chip.

Milledge is a noted sexual deviant so this should not come as a surprise to anyone

If he played any other sport, this would be a non issue.
To punish some guy, or even talk about punishing some guy for lyrics in a song that are as commonly used as "cat" and "dog", is insane. Why are baseball players held to some higher moral standard than all the other sports? this is just another example of the hypocrisy.

Lastings did nothing wrong. Nothing.

As for him being a sexual deviant, if I remember correctly he was in high school and slept wit a 14 or 15 year old girl, and got busted for it. If that makes you a sexual deviant, then half this country is a sexual deviant.
