Was startling to me as a Hamels owner looking at innings pitched in past 4 years with all the injuries.
2003 - 100 innings
2004 - 16 innnings
2005 - 35 innings
2006 - 155 innings
what's going to happen when he gets to 150 innings this year? right now he is on pace for 239 innings.
if he keeps up current pace might be a key trade high guy right after the All Star break. i jumped the gun and just traded him for Abreu, everybody's favorite buy low guy.

Good point Amazinz- his splits from last year show better #s, even in August they improved more. i still question a young pitcher who hasn't endured a full season...didn't Verlander drop off significantly in 2nd half during first season?

They did DL Cole last year but it was more precautionary. I expect that they monitor him very closely considering he is their Ace.
Any soreness would probably warrant a skipped turn or a DL trip.
he's also locating and throwing the change more often. All "cole hamels is god" aside he is an excellent pitcher
If its a keeper league and you traded him for Bobby Abreu I'd say you got hosed
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

Let me tell you, I live in NY and watch Bobby Abreau pretty much every night ... and I wouldn't trade Steve Trachsel for him, let alone Cole Hamels. You, my friend, got robbed.
