How does the DL work?

Not sure if this is in the right forum, but I have Felix Hernandez on the DL right now but he is coming back tomorrow. When I try to edit tuesdays roster to take him off and put Howard in the dl slot, there is no option to put Howard on it..what is wrong? I don't want to drop someone right now.
