What exactly did Alex Rios do to John Gibbons?

I can't wait for the Jays to get rid of this guy. He just seems like a confrontational jerk. I'm sure he had his "reasons" for not using Rios but I'm just as sure that they had nothing to do with baseball.

Now I may be giving him too much credit here, but it is possible that Gibbons really hates his job right now. When you want out of a terrible situation, you do things that make you look stupid and force the GMs hand.

Now most people would just suck it up or resign, but Gibbons isn't most people. So he figures he'll make unfavorable decisions to help open the emergency exit out of Toronto.

Good point.. when you suggested he might be trying to look bad to force the GM to fire him, it was wrong of me to assume he'd still be interested in working as a major league manager in the future.
