Baldelli's hit rate last week was 7% -- that is absurdly unlucky.
An average of 30% of batted balls find a hole. Overall on the season his hit rate is well under 30%.
The laws of "chance" alone should bring his numbers up toward respectable. He's not playing well by any measure. But he's not quite as bad as the BA shows.
Think of him as the anti-Cust.

His BABIP is way below average right now.

Looks nothing more than a mini slump.

He's now 25, and he batted .287 with 4 HRs and 4 SBs in April.
And I supposed to worry about a bad month?
I love the way people overreact over slumps sometimes.
And it's not
even a month... more like 2 weeks! So 49 ABs is a more accurate sample size for a career .282 hitter than the other 1,606 ABs?
With all this panicking, sure hope some of you more savvy owners are buying low and making out like bandits!
i hadn't thought of it until you said it, but i just offered R. Soriano + Wickman for Baldelli, and it quickly got accepted by the guy in my league who waited on closers and currently only has Weathers and Turnbow.

Ya, I'm strongly leaning towards the drop now.
