Someone in my league is considering vetoing this trade. He said Beckett isn't even worth holding on to in a 6-team league. I need some more responses to try and convince him.

Depends what other SP are out there, but with the year Beckett's having thus far I find it inconceivable that someone would really think that.

I'll admit that I've been skeptical of him in years past, not so much ability as that he would always miss time with blister issues, but those have been addressed and he made all his starts last year..plus looking at what his ratios are and that he leads the league in wins, the argument brought doesn't hold with me.

For what it's worth, a couple of weeks ago I made a deal sending McCann and Thome (before the injury) for David Wright and Beckett. Not a whisper about it.

The closest things to not ownable in that deal (in a 6 team league) are Chipper and Kinsler. There is nothing wrong with this deal at all, particularly with the start Beckett is having. If the season ended today, he'd win the Cy Young Award, probably. So, the Cy Young Award winner is unownable in a 6 team league? Let me into that league!

Very, very, very far from being vetoable... and this is coming from a guy who is more "veto-happy" than some.

Only veto in extreme cases. This is a good 2B for a good 3B trade with a SP thrown in because you'd figure Chipper has the track record over Kinsler. It's value for value and a case can easily be made on both sides.
