I was thinking about who I would want if I could have any pitcher from the AL or NL on my team. The two names that came right to mind were Johan Santana and Jake Peavy. I think I'd have to take Peavy over Johan at this point, even though Johan always heats up post-April. Who would everyone else take??
i would still take johan. the track record is impeccable, and i would be somewhat surprised if peavy finished the year ahead of him, though both should be excellent.
I appreciate what Peavy has done, but Johan's April ERA this year was almost a full run lower than it is for his career.
This could be his best season yet. Scary.

I wish that happened. Because I have Peavy, Webb, and Hamels.
Johan's top preseason competition such as Carpenter and Halladay are down. Honestly, the only guys who could challenge Johan are high strike-out pitchers such as Sheets and Peavy who are also on good teams so they can get the 20+ wins to possibly unseat him if Johan gets say only 19 wins.
