Has anyone heard when Thome is coming back.

I thought I read he was supposed to go on a minor league rehab assignment Thursday. Can't find a box score with him in it so I assume he didn't.

He is eligible to come off the DL Sunday but I read he might not play until Tuesday as a pinch hitter for interleague play.

Jim Thome: (Rib Cage) Eyeing a Sunday Return
Jim Thome: (Rib Cage) Eyeing a Sunday Return

Update: Thome (rib cage) will test out the injury on Tuesday and could return as soon as Sunday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Recommendation: If all goes well on Tuesday, Thome will head out on a quick minor-league rehab assignment with an eye on returning on Sunday. This seems like an overly ambitious timeline considering the nature of the injury and Thome's swing, but the White Sox have one of the best medical staffs in the game. We'll keep you updated on his status.

They certainly could use him, their O is weak.

rotoworld says he's more then likely going to be used as a pinch hitter next week. Not worth starting yet.
