I loved owning him a couple years ago when he had 2b eligibility, but ever since he moved to SS the price for him has been too steep for me. Now that he's off to this slow start, and apparently has a hammy problem, what do you expect from him? Will he turn it around?

He'll turn it around.. he has been a .300 for 4 straight years and I don't expect that to change anytime soon.

How is it a hammy problem if he has missed exactly 1 game over the last 2 years....

Do you know something I don't?

No, I was just referring to the game he missed today. I don't know how serious it is. "Hammy issue" might have been the better phrase.

Understood. Seeing as how nothing has been reported, I assume the issue is minor and he will be day to day. He has been nothing but the picture of consistency, so that is my hope.

Yes, don't worry about him. You can bench him in the time being if you have the ability to.

Young's average was as low as .243 in mid-May 2005.

By late June, it was up to .328 and he ended 2005 at .331.

Dude is quality. You gotta ride it out. His numbers for the last month are on the rise:

He's just started hitting well - just seems to hit it right at someone or Tori Hunter or GMJ makes some highlight play on him. At least he's started hitting well again, though. I expect those balls will start finding holes soon enough.

I'd try to trade for him in my main keeper league, but the owner won't give any discount on him. Probably rightfully so.

He's also been taking more walks lately. Surprisingly, his Runs and RBIs are not bad at all given his low AVG/OPS. Once those hits start dropping in and his OPS keeps climbing, I think he'll give full value by the end of the year. As my third round pick, at least I hope so!
