What is everyone's problem with Bonds, exactly?

Postby abrunn11 » Thu May 10, 2007 9:46 am

Is the cheating? Because there has been a lot of people who have cheated in the past that nobody has a problem with. Sammy Sosa, who has his own cloud of suspicion with regards to performance enhancing susbtances, had cork explode out his bat nobody has a problem with him.

Is it the fact the Bonds is inevitably going to surpass Hank Aaron's homerun record that people mad about? Are these people saying that it is ok to pass Frank Robinson and Harmon Killebrew (like Sosa did) but not Hank Aaron? Are Hank's homeruns more important than theirs?

Is it the fact that he has a poor relationship with the media that people have distain towards him? Randy Johnson and Curt Shilling have poor relationships with the media and they are not being ostracized.

So what is it with Barry? Is it because he has all three of these things going for him? Do people hate him because he is a cheating (allegedly) a-hole (documented) that is going to pass Hank Aaron on the all-time list? Probably.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.
