Is this guys toast. Some other veterans like Sheffield/Young appear to be turning their slow starts around, but he continues to wallow around .200. What does everyone think of him for the rest of the year?
I'm usually not a big proponent of dropping a proven guy after a slow start, but Rolen just seems done. I think he'll pick it up, but not enough to be worthy of a roster spot. Thanks for the memories, Scotty.

I really regret drafting Scotty over Chipper. The Cardinals are terrible this year. Everyone in that line-up (including Pujols) is struggling this year, except for perhaps Duncan. If I were LaRussa, I'd put Rolen in the 2 hole for a while in hopes that he gets good pitches to hit in front of Pujols.
He's only 32, and last year he was at .296 with a .887 OPS, and he was agile enough to still win the gold glove. I can't believe he's washed up yet.
If he hits .280 with a 20 HR pace from year on out, he should be worth owning... but at those rates he'd still be below most of the good 3B. And probably not enough for the util spot. Tough call for a "hold and wait and see" pickup.

this thread could have been made for every single batter on the Cardinals (except Chris Duncan). I think he will get better maybe 20-25 HR I dunno 90 RBI?
Certianly not what he was. He is killing my team.
I dont know whats wrong with this team...but Rolens year last year was better and he was just coming off two surgeries. He SHOULD be stronger one year away from this.
