i notice that they didnt give him an opportunity for the save tonight.

any word on if this is just a rest day or because he gave up a billion runs during is last attempt?

Valverde had pitched the last three nights in a row.

BTW, those three appearances included 2 saves, with a total of 0 ER, 0 H, 1 BB...

3 saves I think.


Nope, only two: Sunday and Monday against the Mets and Phillies, respectively. He came into the game Saturday night against the Mets in the top of the ninth with the D-Backs losing 6-2 -- clearly not a save opportunity. I would assume he pitched in that spot to regain some confidence after the Mets touched him up for 4 runs, the BS, and the L two nights earlier...
