Reportedly a better prospect than Chuck James, with a chance to stick around depending on his performance this week. I will be watching closely - pitching with the Braves' park/support will be nice, too.

He had some great numbers while working his way up the farm system, but was just 3-5 at Richmond last year with a 7.48 ERA in 15 starts. He struckout 69 in 71 innings, but walked 36. He supposedly touches 97 on his fastball, but looks like there are some control issues there. He was up against Reitsma in spring training last year for closer duties, but he gave up 12 runs in 6 innings and pretty much ended that possibility. He's got a pretty nice matchup tonight at home against Germano, so I guess we'll see if he's worked through last year's issues.

Here's a little more that I found:

Apparently, he's stopped throwing his splitter this year and is primarily throwing the sinker and changeup. Sounds like Braves fans consider him the most "athletic" pitcher in the system right now and there's hope that he could permanently steal Redman's spot with a few good showings.

The Braves kind of slowed this guys development IMO by moving him in and out of the rotation. He was supposed to be the "closer of the future". He has a lot of potential. Fastball is supposed to be real nasty, sitting in the mid 90's with good movement.

That won't be to hard. I hope that we never see Redman in a Braves jersey again, he is terrible.

7 strikeouts in 6 innings so far but with 2 solo dingers.
Seems to be pitching fairly decent.

Would you drop the other Atlanta pitcher Chuck James for him?

He's atleast shown he can work quickly and hold down the pitchcounts.
