crazy crazy amount of walks this year...He's always walked a lot, but these are Bondsian level walks. Although we don't count OBP, I gotta think its a sign of good things to come w/ him judging the strike zone so well.
So he has got to be waiting for his pitch, and just not hitting it yet, right? Either that or he's just in a funk, knows, it and is taking his walks?
Excellent point about the walks. It's been my experience that when a player draws that many walks (he's tied for the MLB lead with Bonds, Berkman, and Helton -- you gotta love that company) it's a VERY good sign.

I noticed that while checking his game-by-game stats... I noticed that a few nights ago, he had zero ABs. I'm thinking "what the heck?"
I think he'll get hot at some point like he always does, but I wouldn't want him as one of my top 3 OF's. I've had him in the past and he's ok, depending on the dynamics of the scoring.
what was it that bothered Burrell last season, wasnt it his foot? and is he fully healthy this season?
i had him last year and through the season he was almost a platoon player where he got multiple games off to rest and it was frustrating
Excellent point made by Rydderch...his K rate is down, and that's always been a problem for him. His eye appears to have improved, and I agree that the increase in walks is a good sign. He'll be valuable, but you shouldn't expect HUGE numbers (just good ones).
That said, in the past week and a half, he has been pretty miserable (if you don't count walk-rate), and he's seen his average go down almost 60 points. Another thing to note...he's streaky as hell. But with that lineup around him, he's worth a spot in your OF.
