Twins fan here...

I heard the announcers say during a game last week that they were totally shutting him down for the year, not even having him throw until spring training next year.

It's probably good for the long run, but for this season, he's out.

I can't help but say how much I am looking forward to a rotation with Santana and Liriano next year. Gonna be sweet.

How much longer is Santana under contract? Are they going to lose him after next year?

Through next year (2008). Don't know if they can afford to keep him.
