Just traded BButler, BWood & JLoney for Mark Teixeira, Ryan Theriot & Renyel Pinto in a DYNASTY LEAGUE. Big gamble I know!
I don't see anyone on his team that is worth giving up the best player in baseball. I'd understand if A-Rod was on his last leg but you have to figure he has at LEAST 5 amazing seasons left at the 3B position.
As far as guys he has worth a blockbuster deal, I think Delmon, Jason Bay, "maybe" Markakis, Zumaya, and DiceK (which he probably won't part with). None of those guys are worth giving up A-Rod in my opinion.

But hey, what do I know? lol
I agree with kbarre here.
I just don't see a fit. If you had to do something, I'd want at least Gonzalez and Bay from him.
I always live and die by the philosophy that I want to get the best player involved in ANY trade I execute.
In this situation, you'd bet getting a lot of "ifs" and also he'd be getting the best player in the deal. That goes against everything I ever wish in a trade.
It sounds like he wants to give up some young guys with plenty of hype to land a perennial all-star and stud for the next 5-10 years. A-Rod ain't close to done. Also, who's to say that when A-Rod moves over to Boston next season he won't play SS again?
I think he'll have dual eligibility quickly next season...maybe that's just me, but I can see it coming.
"I do not think baseball of today is any better than it was 30 years ago... I still think Radbourne is the greatest of the pitchers." John Sullivan 1914-Old athletes never change.
I agree with everyone else...I'd want something like Bay, Drew, Markakis, and Hughes, but that realistically doesn't help your offense that much. Drop Sweeney or trade Iannetta for a 1B. If you're hurting for offense you shouldn't roll with a blank at one of the premium power positions...
