Guess who's going to be buying sushi dinners for the entire team down in Single A? With $46 million in tow, he might chip in some sake too.

Sportsline says AAA
The Yankees have called up Matt DeSalvo and optioned Kei Igawa to Triple-A. Darrell Rasner has beaten out Igawa for a starting rotation spot, apparently.

BTW, the Yanks often sent guys to Tampa to work with pitching coach Billy Connors when their mechanics are out of whack. But, Kei will be working with Nardi Contreras and another coach towards the same end. Contreras I believe is credited with much of the positive development of Yankee pitching prospects.

So, this isn't meant as a "You Suck" message. It's more a chance to be in warm weather and get him back on the right track.

I wonder if he would break the record for the richest AAA pitcher that is there purely due to performance.

Of course he's not Dice-K, we got him for half the price. Dice-Ks ERA is almost half of Igawa's right now.

You wanna bash Dice-K, cool, there's plenty of Overrated and other threads on him to bash away.

Dice-K's not the one that got demoted. Igawa is. That's what this thread is about. Just keeping this on track so no flame wars erupt.

I tell you $45M($25M posting fee,$20M contract) just doesn't buy what it used to. I'm one of Cash's biggest supporters but this is another move that seemingly everyone except Cash knew was a mistake.
