Thoughts on the Prince

I think he is more like a robot now than a beast.

Where do you guys have him in next years draft based on the stats so far? My top ten may shape up so far like:

1. Pujols
2. Arod
3. Prince???
4. Ortiz
5. Santana
6. Cabrera
7. Reyes
8. Vlad
9. Peavy? Did he crack the top ten?
10. Howard/TBD

although his numbers are pretty crazy, i have a hard time seeing prince go 3rd overall. even based on stats i can't see reyes going after prince.

Reyes is a top 3 pick to me.

But that's just me.

On that list, with his current projections, I would probably list his highness 5-7

I'd think Reyes has to be #2 assuming this keeps up. By end of the season you'll be putting Soriano back into that top 10. Hanley Ramirez may end up in top 10 too. I don't think anyone will pick Prince #3 even if he has the huge year, you really don't want someone who has only had one big year that early.

I'm all for doing rankings earlier than most.....see my posts in Oct last year for this year..... but this is even waaaayyyyy too early for me to even think about. Way to much can happen THIS year to even begin to think about NEXT year!

He's on pace to hit over 50 home runs in a Ryan Howard type of year. I don't think anyone will be too quick to jump on a sophomore stud like they did with Howard (he consistently went in the first 5 picks in most leagues). Even if he slows down and hits about 40, he's still going to be a high commodity next year.

If he ends projected at 100 R, 55 HR, 125 RBI and .295 AVG, then we can have a long hard debate on where he should go in the first round next year

I'm just not sure the whole Brewers team can keep it up, let alone Prince.
