Actually, it's not that bad. 25 K / 15 BB, a .386 OBP with his .298 AVG. He has looked much more comfortable than last year in terms of his discipline.
I'm impressed with his average against lefties so far, which is .340, not bad for a lefty power hitter. 2006 leads me to believe that he can't keep that up, but perhaps he's adjusted. He should be a top 10 1B for many years to come.
He'll hit for average, might not be this year but he's not a Howard type player who has a horrible contact rate and makes up for it with power. As others have said he doesn't have any problems hitting lefties either. It won't surprise me one bit to see .300, 40 HR out of him as soon as this year, though it might take another year to flesh things out.
I have been very impressed with him lately. Hopefully he can keep it up. I have him and Adrian Gonz so its tough for me to pick one, but last week I rode prince and his hot bat. I picked prince 74 and AGonz at 214, but both have been very impressive. Even with a few slumps, I can see Prince doing 38 hrs, 110 runs, 100 rbi if the Brewers can stay in the race
I see a quicker lighter version of his Daddy-O..Cecil was an absolute beast for a short time. In 4 years he went off to combine for 160 HR's and 507 RBI's ..And then strung together some 30 HR 90 RBI seasons for a few years.. Anyways, I totally think Prince could be a 35-45 HR, 110+ RBI, .280 type guy for years to come.. He B Good
I think Prince is a stud in the making. In my dynasty league I traded Howard for C.C., .5 mill cash and Gio Gonzalez. I felt preety safe doing so knowing that I had Prince to take over first. Turned out great for me as C.C. and Prince have been great while Howard is struggling.
All of the true things I am about to tell you are shameless lies
