What Good is a Stacked Bench?

Postby ScrappyDoo » Mon May 07, 2007 11:32 am

Im in first in points in a CBS Points League. My team is stacked, both in the starting lineup and in the bench.

RP are not even a factor, although Reyes has done me well. We are only allowed 6 games started a week for our SP. My pitching is stacked as well.

Should I try some of my bench guys and try to improve my starting lineup or keep the bench to allow me to play matchups, play good quality players on off days, etc.

Ive never played in a points league. Should I go for a more top heavy lineup or just sit tight, play good matchups and have a couple of good plan B's in case of injury.

Sit Cuddyer, and start Hamilton.

You're also a bid outfield-heavy. I'd try to trade some of that for depth at positions at which you have no backup.

Yah, Sorry that was just a roster copy. Cuddyer is sitting while he is injured and until he gets back into a groove.

I know it looks like Im OF heavy but Duncan fills in at 1st. Hill is backup 2B and SS. Chipper is my backup 3B, I also picked up Olivo to back up Estrada. So as of now I have a backup for every postition.

I think I should try and move some of my pitching. Maybe someone will bite on something like Maine and Morneau for Ortiz or something like that.
