Just wondering what are the odds he is called up this year?

Maybe the end of this year, but I like him alot. I think he will win the ROY in 2008. He made a flawless transistion from the College to Pro level, much like that of Alex Gordon. I think he ahs Jeff Kent type power, I like him alot. But, wouldnt lean too much on him getting called up. Unless Iwamura really busts.

wouldnt shock me at all if he's BA's #1 ov prospect on their 100 list come next year. he has Gordon part II written all over him and he's really doing well in AA right now from power to contact to a very good BB/K ratio. i would think it is shocking to see him with a cup of coffee this year but it "could" happen.

I think he beats out Iwamura for the starting 3rd base spot in Tampa next spring. He has a good B/K ratio, and I think he will blend in well in that Tampa lineup in the #2 or #3 hole.

Thanks a lot for the input guys. The reason I ask this is because my keeper league allows us to keep 6 players + 2 extra keepers as long as they havent played in 30 or more games TWICE.

I have 4 players that qualify for the 2 extra keeper spots and I didnt know what to do with them. The 4 players I have are:

Brandon Wood(SS)- currently called up w/ LAA
Evan Longoria(3B)- Not Active w/ TB
Josh Hamilton(OF)- starting OF w/ CIN
Billy Butler(OF)- currently called up w/ KC

Need some Minor League experts to help me how to figure this one out.

He may get a callup in September, he is tearing AA up right now so i expect him to go to Durham around the All-Star Break and if he tears that up i would imagine they would give him a September call up

The impression that I get about Longoria is that the Rays are going to be pretty patient with him. Due to the two year debacle that because BJ Upton I doubt they are really looking to rush him up to a jam packed infield. I think he will be promoted to AAA midway through the year, and then at best a September callup. More than likely though he will be brought in to compete for the 3b out of Spring Training in 08 in my opinion.

Thanks for all the input guys. Sounds to me like Longoria is for real and I need to hang onto him. The problem is Wood, Hamilton and Butler all seem to be for real too. Based on what I read, I think the best thing to do is to hang onto all 4 and decide when the time comes. Agree or disagree?
