I would hardly call him a hack at this point. :-t

Wish I had him in my minors system in my keeper league... :-/

I do in my only keeper league with a minors system.

I did a terrible job though. This was the first year and I took Pelfrey and LaRoche with the 12th and 13th pick. Needless to say, there were a bunch of better players, I was just way under-prepared.

With both LaRoche and Pelfrey now of the clock to be signed to the MLB team (i have to do it within a week of reaching 150AB/50IP) and neither look like they will be worth a roster spot on my team....oh well....

You're right that's Loney who had the RBIs not LaRoche. Who the hell cares about LaRoche?

yeah, Loney is the guy that should be up in the Majors. Put Nomar at third and Loney at first. That would solve the Dodger woes. Forget Laroche...this coming from a die hard Dodger fan.

I feel like your scope of fantasy baseball doesn't leave 12-team, standard 5x5 redraft. :-* Your posts fail to rarely, if ever, capture anything beyond that assumption.

Even in 9 out of 10 keeper leagues, La Roche is not worth picking up.

For those in 30 team NL only leagues, I apologise for my ignorance. My advice for you is to work yourself up into a frenzy and use your no. 1 waiver prority on this young phenom.

I'll just go ahead and say 'I disagree' and ignore the rest of your feeble childishness. :-b

I have to chuckle a little bit as I read this thread.

There are very few leagues where Laroche won't be worth a roster spot if he's playing every day, and there are even fewer keeper leagues where I'd hesitate for even a second before grabbing him.

This is a guy who was a consensus top 20 minor leaguer before the season started and rated even higher than Ryan Braun by Baseball America and a bunch of other sites/people.

http://www.attheplate.com/2007/07_rookied.htm

It's entirely possible that he struggles like many young players do, but a slow start at AAA shouldn't turn anyone off. In 202 AAA at bats in 2006, he batted .322-.400-.550 with 10 HRs and 3 SBs. He also walked 25 times compared to 32 strikeouts. Something tells me that if he had started off hot this year, he'd be looked at differently... that's just silly.

Especially in keeper leagues, go get him if you can.
