I lived in Vestal, NY for three years - went to Cooperstown several times ... it's awesome.

I am about an hour and a half away and used to go for induction day ceremonies consistently. Saw my idol Tom Seaver get inducted as well as many others. You wanna talk about a zoo? Go to cooperstown for induction weekend. What a great time. While you're at it, try to get tickets for the game. They have it structured differently now so that the game is at a different time than the induction ceremonies. I haven't gone in awhile and I miss it. I plan on going this spring/summer again. My dad has never been there and I plan on taking him. I highly recommend it to any baseball fan, even the marginally interested.

Oh, btw, make reservations early if you go to induction weekend. Hotels/motels and such sell out for those dates very quickly. My wife and I once did a bed and breakfast when we went. That was interesting.

thanks to my job, i go about once a year to cooperstown....and speaking of a zoo, the year nolan, brett and yount went in was crazy.....looking forward to the ripken, gwynn, mcgwire

For those who are too far from Cooperstown:

I believe The Field Museum in Chicago is currently running a exhibit on the history of baseball. The exhibit includes many artifacts from Cooperstown, some of which have never been displayed before. The exhibit runs until sometime in July I believe. I'm seeing the Cubs-Cards in May and am gonna try and to check that out while I'm there.
