father son trade vetoable?

Postby JRAMI » Sat May 05, 2007 4:39 pm

I have 2 teams in my league ,one father and one son. They did this trade, which the father gets

Lance Berkman

Rafael Furcal

Garrett Atkins

Scott Rolen

Daisuke Matsuzaka

and the son gets

Álex Rodríguez

Derek Jeter

Jason Giambi

Tom Gorzelanny
(Pit - SP)

I guess if it werent for the fact they were father and son I wouldnt make a big deal of it, its a bad trade for the son. Should I make an issue of this, I mean its so blatantly one sided here. Would you veto this trade?

really? You think so? I mean it seem like the kid is giving up everything just to get Arod.

Arod & Jeter (1st & 2nd round picks). He's alslo getting the best player in the deal.

Not vetoable.

I've learned that sometimes our perceptions get in the way of the facts. This seems to be a pretty fair trade in my book. I don't think the son is getting taken.

This is a totally legit trade. The only reason to even be skeptical of its merits is because of the obvious close relationship of father to son. I wouldn't veto.

Nothing vetoable there. The kid gets Arod and Jeter who are high picks, a suprisingly good Gorzelanny, and Giambi who has been hitting the ball well as of late. Berkman is a huge loss, but I will take Jeter and Arod over Furcal, Rolen, and Atkins easily.
