Pretty surprising move, all in all. His ERA is under 5.00, which is more than I can say of some established vets (Zambrano?).

wow pretty surprising move. i was sort of hoping jason vargas got called up. i remember him from his stint before and he had great stuff. anyone know whats been up with him?

Florida can't possibly call up Jason Vargas these days. Not since he was traded to the Mets for Lindstrom and Henry Owens. ;-)

Given that the Mets are about to call up Jorge freaking Sosa, it wouldn't be shocking at all to see Vargas getting a shot in the majors sooner than later.

Vargas isn't exactly pitching well in Triple-A. :-/

Wow, seems like a bit of a rash move to make. I would have thought he had another month or so to turn it around, but I guess not.
